Frank Hosmar, multiple Paralympic medalist, received his equestrian training in Deurne. Frank has completed the highest training in equestrian sports and is a certified trainer/coach 5. He is part of the adapted sports instructor network and is also a talent scout for (para) dressage at the KNHS.
In 1997, Frank had an accident in which he landed in glass and all the muscles, tendons and nerves in his right hand were severed. As a result, he has little strength and feeling in his hand and its function is limited. Doctors told him that he would never be able to ride again, but through long and intensive rehabilitation and learning various tricks and skills, he can ride any horse. If you don't know, you can't see that he's limited by his hand.
Since 2009, Frank has also competed in para dressage in addition to regular sport (up to Grand Prix). He starts in grade V (for people with the mildest disability), is included in the Paralympic framework of the KNHS and also has A status with the NOC*NSF. He has achieved many successes within adapted sports.
